BARTLETT LAKE, AZ - Divers continued to search Monday for a man who disappeared in the water Sunday afternoon at Bartlett Lake.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call just before 2:30 p.m. of a drowning.
They were told a 44-year-old man who was not a good swimmer was on a pontoon boat with a friend when he decided to go swimming.
A short time later, the man’s friend noticed the victim had not resurfaced and called 911.
Sheriff’s deputies searched the area without finding the victim.
The MCSO dive team responded to the area where the victim was last seen and began to search.
The search was called off after about two hours due to lighting conditions which could pose safety issues, according to MCSO.
The dive team returned Monday morning to resume the search.
The name of the victim has not been released. MCSO said they expect to have an update Monday.
