VAIL, AZ - The Pima County Sheriff's Department says a young man riding in an SUV has died in a rollover crash in the community of Vail southeast of Tucson and the driver has been arrested on manslaughter and aggravated assault charges.

Sheriff's spokesman Tom Peine (Py-NAH) says 41-year-old Joan Elaine Laidlaw was driving when the SUV ran a stop sign just after 9 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then hit a dirt berm and rolled onto its side.

Eighteen-year-old Armando Daniel Hernandez was partially ejected and died when he was trapped under the SUV.

Laidlaw and a 16-year-old boy also riding in the SUV suffered minor injuries.

Peine says Laidlaw tested positive for marijuana and depressants and was booked into the county jail.
