PIMA COUNTY, AZ - The Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety has awarded the Pima County Sheriff's Department two grants for enforcement of laws against drunken driving and underage drinking.
The department plans to use the $35,000 for an enforcement and public awareness campaign this summer throughout unincorporated areas of Pima County.
That will include sobriety checkpoints and additional drunken driving patrols as well as educational information offered to the public at safety fairs, community events, enforcement activities and news conferences.
