Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever impaired at time of deadly crash

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - An Arizona sheriff killed in a rollover accident last month was impaired at the time of the crash, according to a new report.
Cochise County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carol Capas confirmed preliminary toxicology results received Friday indicated Sheriff Larry Dever's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit at the time of the crash.
Dever died Sept. 18 in a rollover accident south of Williams as he was driving to a family hunting trip in northern Arizona.
The Dever family reportedly told Cochise County Sheriff's officials they received the toxicology results immediately after the accident.
Dever's family said his mother's recent death and other events in the 60-year-old's life had left him "reeling from the stress and pressure."
Officials earlier said Dever had been driving 62 mph before the crash and was not wearing a seat belt.
The medical examiner's office says his death was accidental and caused by multiple injuries.
