YUMA, AZ - The U.S. Border Patrol has issued a warning to people considering crossing into Arizona from Mexico about the risks of excessive heat.

Temperatures are expected to soar in the coming days in southern Arizona's deserts, nearing 110 degrees by the weekend.

The Border Patrol has put its search and rescue teams on alert.

Hundreds of migrants have died from exposure while crossing the state's southern deserts in recent years.
