LUKEVILLE, AZ - Border agents have seized more than 900 pounds of marijuana hidden inside a pickup truck trying to cross from Mexico into Arizona at the Lukeville port of entry.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday that a 33-year-old woman and a 26-year-old male passenger, both U.S. citizens from Phoenix, tried to cross the port around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
They were referred to secondary inspection, during which officers found 440 packages of marijuana hidden in various areas inside the truck.
The woman was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the drugs and truck were seized.
