WILLCOX, AZ - Authorities say a man fatally shot his father and then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide in southern Arizona.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says the 36-year-old man came to his father's home about 15 miles south of Willcox around midday Saturday to pick up belongings and shot his 62-year-old father several times as he sat at a desk.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Carol Capas says investigators haven't yet established a definitive motive for the shooting.

The 36-year-old man's stepmother fled from the home and called authorities. She wasn't injured in the shooting.

Authorities say the son was later located inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The names of the men who died haven't yet been released.
