PHOENIX - Authorities have identified three men injured in a helicopter crash in southern Arizona that killed the pilot Monday.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department says 58-year-old Edwin Nettleton and 41-year-old Paul Panzica have been released from the hospital while 64-year-old Larry Sayers remains hospitalized in serious condition.
The pilot, identified as Loren Leonberger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. Monday near Waterman and Silverbell roads, just north of Tucson, while the helicopter was in the area looking for a new communication tower site.
According to National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Keith Holloway, the aircraft has been removed from the crash site and taken to Phoenix for further investigation. He says authorities are collecting maintenance records and reviewing witness reports.
