MARICOPA, AZ - Two men have been arrested after they reportedly ran from Maricopa police and crashed their vehicle while transporting marijuana, police said.
The men were arrested after crashing their vehicle and fleeing from officers near Edison Road and Ancon Avenue in Maricopa. Police used a stun-gun to subdue one man and found the other hiding in a nearby junkyard.
There is no record of the individuals under the names they have given police, according to a report.
Police reportedly found 317 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle as well as a handgun reported stolen from Mesa.
The men were treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries they sustained in the crash.
No one else was hurt, but police are asking two joggers to come forward who were almost struck so additional charges can be added to the driver, according to a report.
