FLORENCE, AZ - The pickup truck of a missing Apache Junction man has been found in a Gila County canyon with a body inside.

Pinal County Sheriff's officials say it's still unclear whether the body is that of 58-year-old Jeffrey Block.

Spokesman Elias Johnson said the White Dodge Ram belonging to Block was discovered by a Search & Rescue volunteer near the bottom of a 1,000‐foot canyon in Gila County.

DPS officers responding to the scene confirmed a dead body was inside the truck and had been there for approximately two weeks.

Block's family reported him missing after the 58‐year‐old failed to return home from a trip to Show Low on July 25th along with his dog, Blue, which has not been found.

Since that time, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office has followed numerous leads searching for Block with no luck.

The Department of Public Safety is handling the crash investigation and assisted in recovering the body.

PCSO Detectives working the case are awaiting positive identification of the victim from the Medical Examiner's Office.
