FLORENCE, AZ - Authorities investigated a suspicious package found along State Route 79 north of Florence.
According to Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia, the package was found near the Army National Guard base.
The DPS Explosive Ordinance Disposal responded to the area, Garcia said.
SR 79 was closed between Hunt Highway and Arizona Farms Road while officials investigated.
Air15 showed officials moving the package into a DPS vehicle after it was ruled safe to handle.
The person who left the package has been located and cited for criminal littering, Garcia said.
