FLORENCE, AZ - Authorities say an inmate has died in an Arizona prison.
Karot Phothong, 37, was found unresponsive in his housing unit Saturday, according to the Department of Corrections.
He was pronounced dead from a possible suicide after medical responders attempted life-saving measures, spokesman Bill Lamoreaux said in a statement.
Phothong was serving 12 years at the Central Unit, Arizona State Prison Complex in Florence for aggravated assault.
He had been in prison since Sept. 9, 2005 after his sentencing in Pima County.
Phothong's death is under investigation by the Arizona Department of Corrections.
