CASA GRANDE, AZ - Authorities say two men were killed in a plane crash Wednesday morning at the Casa Grande Municipal Airport.

The crash happened while the unidentified aircraft was landing at the airport around 11:30 a.m., according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.

The FAA says the aircraft is a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air, and the plane exploded and burned after crashing.

The airport is located on Pinal Avenue, north of Centennial Boulevard.

The aircraft was destroyed by fire, and no one was seen exiting the aircraft, Gregor said.

Casa Grande Fire Assistant Chief Jim Morgan said two bodies were found in the wreckage, but there could be more because there are six to eight seats on the plane.

Morgan said the plane went back up about 200 feet when it was landing, and then came right back down before exploding.

The FAA told ABC15 that the plane is registered in Tucson, but no tail number could be confirmed.

The FAA and NTSB will investigate this accident.
