PD: Casa Grande man caught masturbating at public aquatic park

CASA GRANDE, AZ - A Casa Grande man is accused of masturbating at a public aquatic park in front of dozens of people

Malcolm Rubio, 40, allegedly touched himself at the Palm Island Family Aquatic Park on Wednesday. Police records show there were more than 100 people at the pool at the time.

“I was just surprised to see the man doing that,” said 14-year-old Kayla, one of the witnesses who reported the incident.

Kayla said she noticed Rubio touching himself as she and a few friends were at the pool. Rubio allegedly was touching himself while sitting at a picnic table outside the aquatic park.

“That’s…not something you should do, at a kids’ playground especially,” Kayla said.

Parents were outraged to hear the allegations against Rubio.

“[The kids are] probably going to be scared to come back here alone,” said parent Diana Cochran. “It’s going to be something they remember for a long time.”

Kayla said she is doing alright since the incident, but she has learned one big lesson.

“There’s people out there that are that disgusting,” she said.

According to police documents, Rubio denied all allegations against him. He faces the charge of public sexual indecency to a minor.
