ELOY, AZ - Authorities say a man and woman died in a crash Thursday afternoon in the Eloy area after they left a service at a nearby cemetery.

The collision happened around 12:30 p.m. on southbound State Route 87 at State Route 84, said spokesman Bart Graves with the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The vehicle was stopped at a stop sign before they began driving through the intersection.

The vehicle was then hit by a large pickup truck, Graves said.

Both the female driver and male passenger of the vehicle died at the scene.

Graves said they had just left a funeral service nearby.

It’s unclear how the driver of the pickup truck is doing.
