CASA GRANDE, AZ - Pinal County authorities say a man is in custody after being shot by a sheriff's deputy outside Casa Grande.
Sheriff's officials say 41-year-old Scott McCreery suffered a gunshot wound to his right ear.
He's being held on suspicion of aggravated assault, domestic violence involving a handgun and aggravated assault on a police officer.
Sheriff's officials say McCreery allegedly pointed a handgun in the direction of the deputy who had been trying to coax him out of his home early Wednesday.
McCreery's wife called 911 at about 1 a.m. following an argument at their home.
When deputies arrived, they ordered McCreery to come out of the house and authorities say he was armed.
Sheriff's officials say McCreery lifted the handgun from his side and pointed it at a deputy and was shot.
