NEW RIVER, AZ - One person was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 17 north of the Valley Wednesday night.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred on northbound I-17, just north of New River, around 7:15 p.m.
DPS said the driver lost control for an unknown reason and struck the median guard rail.
The rider was the only person involved and died at the scene, according to DPS.
Northbound traffic was being taken off at the New River exit. The area was expected to be closed overnight, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
