John F. Kennedy requested UFO files 10 days before his assassination

An uncovered letter from John F. Kennedy to the head of the CIA seeking documents about UFOs just days before his assassination is gaining attention across the Internet Tuesday.
The letter is dated November 12, 1963 and indicates that Kennedy wanted a review of all UFO intelligence files affecting national security.
A second document dated on the same day, from the president to a NASA administrator, shows JFK wanted cooperation with the former Soviet Union regarding outer space matters.
An author made a request for the documents from the CIA under the Freedom of Information Act while doing research for a new book, according to the DailyMail .
The documents have been released by the CIA for the first time.
