Today.com is spotlighting a story from The Sun newspaper, in which a video has surfaced that seems to show a woolly mammoth, an animal widely-known to have been extinct for about four millennia.

The footage shows a blurry creature crossing a river.

See below to watch the video.

According to the Today Show, this video was allegedly "caught by a government-employed engineer last summer in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug region of Siberia."

Due to the video's darkness and lack of clarity, many believe it is an outright hoax — perhaps a computer-generated image digitally inserted into the scene.

Others believe it could be a bear with something in its mouth.

What do you think it is? Read the full report from Today.msnbc.com.
