WASHINGTON - The Secret Service appears to be tightening conduct rules for employees working security during foreign trips.
An official said conduct changes will include a ban on taking foreign nationals to hotel rooms.
In some cases, senior-level chaperones will accompany agents on trips to enforce the new rules.
The changes follow a prostitution scandal in Colombia and news reports that there may have been similar conduct ahead of a presidential visit to El Salvador in 2011.
Do you think this is the right move by the Secret Service to help repair its reputation and prevent another scandal?
Or, do you find it odd that adults who have taken an oath to protect the president can't be trusted and are in need of chaperones?
