The U.S. government is reportedly looking to private tech companies to develop a new tool to monitor what's being discussed on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
The tool will be used to watch conversations in at least seven languages.
Critics worry a tool like this could discourage a free and open Internet.
What do you think?
Can you see a situation where you might be afraid to discuss your displeasure with the government because you knew it might take down your user name and comment and store it in their database?
Head over to the "ABC15 Now!" Facebook page , leave a comment, then tune in weekdays at 3pm to join the conversation.
