An article in The New York Times this week discusses the intense efforts from high school and college coaches heavily recruiting their future stars, especially those in private schools.
This has many wondering whether recruiting rules for private schools are too permissive.
One blogger on Parenting.com says middle school students are being scouted as vigorously, or maybe more, than high school recruits because there apparently aren't any rules on how much they can 'harass' the families.
Does middle school recruiting put too much pressure on young athletes? Or is it good for them to have that focus?
