Imagine a bullet that could steer its way to a target - just like a self-guided missile.
Well, engineers at Sandia National Laboratories say they've invented one.
Instead of shooting straight, the .50-caliber bullet twists and turns -- to guide itself toward a laser-directed point - making up to 30 corrections per second while in the air.
Engineers say this type of bullet would work well with military machine guns -- so soldiers could hit their mark faster and with precision.
Sandia's team is now looking for a sponsor to take the prototype and manufacture it on a commercial scale.
So, what are your thoughts on this latest development?
It could surely help with military and law enforcement operations.
But, are you concerned about how *criminals might use this technology?
