A college football coach facing a bit of a controversy today, and it has nothing to do with recruiting violations.
It has to do with how Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin picks his assistants.
According to reports, Franklin told a radio station:
"I've been saying it for a long time, I will not hire an assistant coach until I've seen his wife. If she looks the part... then you got a chance to get hired. That's part of the deal."
He went on to explain:
"There's a very strong correlation between having confidence going up and talking to women, and being quick on your feet and having some personality and confidence and being fun and articulate, than it is walking into a high school and recruiting a kid and selling him."
So here's the question:
Is this a minor embarrassment for the school or is it a real black eye?
