Urban Outfitters releases new line of shirts glorifying drinking to teenage customers

School is back in session for high school and college students and Urban Outfitters, a popular clothing chain among teens and young adults, has released a questionable set of shirts to ring in the new school year.

According to a recent Yahoo article , Urban Outfitters is selling shirts that say "I Drink You're Cute," "I Vote for Vodka" and "USA Drinking Team."

According to a demographic study of the company, individuals between 18 and 24 years old represent the highest number of customers, followed by kids under age 18.

Companies produce provocative products all the time, but organizations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Dontserveteens.org say that knowingly selling shirts to their underage customers is "unacceptable."

A photograph of the shirt even features a female model who seems too young to be sporting such alcohol-friendly gear.

According to interviews in the Yahoo article, Jan Withers, the national president of MADD, sees such shirts as both a dangerous form of peer pressure but also a good talking point for parents.

Studies show that about one in five kids binge drink, still showing that a majority of children are more responsible and are influenced by talks with parents and adults against underage drinking, according to Yahoo.
