A teen was arrested Wednesday after his grandmother was stabbed 93 times and shot with a crossbow in Florida.

Gloria Helfrich, 67, was stabbed, struck in the face with a pipe wrench, and shot in the back of her head with a crossbow, according to Lake Wales authorities, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

Jasper Aristotle Smiddie, 19, was arrested in Lake Wales and faces a first-degree murder charge, according to the report.

Polk County deputies told the Sentinel that Smiddie called his father and confessed to killing Helfrich, with whom he lived in a home with. Smiddie's father reported his son to authorities.
