Shena Hardin remains mum while holding 'idiot' sign as punishment for passing school bus on sidewalk

CLEVELAND - A 32-year-old woman who drove on the sidewalk to pass a Cleveland school bus is staying mum as she stands on the sidewalk holding an "idiot" sign as punishment.

Shena Hardin got out of a car and nonchalantly lit up a cigarette as a hoard of cameras and reporters circled her. However, the woman wearing large sunglasses and a hat with brim over her face did not say sorry. In fact, she didn't say anything.

Barraged by questions from the media, Hardin was silent, head tilted down. As reporters walked away, she lifted a tissue and sniffled.

Hardin then continued leaning against a fence holding onto the sign attached to a wooden stick reading, “Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus." She passed some of the time by pulling out her phone and texting, as cars drove by honking.

Hardin was sentenced as part of her parole agreement to stand at the corner of East 38th and Superior Ave. from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday wearing the 22 inch by 22 inch sign.

Cleveland Metropolitan School District bus driver Uriah Herron is credited with getting video of Hardin going around the bus on the sidewalk, as kids were loading and unloading.
