LAKE COUNTY, FL - Deputies in Florida are accused of shooting and killing a man they thought was a suspect in an attempted murder, but the victim turned out to be the wrong man, according to a Monday report.
WESH.com said Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies knocked on the door of Andrew Lee Scott, 26, without identifying themselves as law enforcement officers Sunday morning.
Scott reportedly answered the door with a gun in his hand.
A lieutenant said when the door opened a man they thought was wanted for attempted homicide was pointing a gun at them and they opened fire, killing him, according to the article.

He said in the article if someone points a gun at a deputy sheriff or police officer, that person is going to get shot.
Officials reportedly thought they were confronting Jonathan Brown, whose motorcycle was parked across from Scott’s front door.
