A baby girl was found dead in a vehicle in Florida after her father forgot to drop her off at daycare Tuesday, according to a Wednesday report.

Lazaro Ramos dropped off one of his children at school and went to work, but forgot to drop the 6-month-old off at daycare and left her in her car seat in the vehicle for about nine hours, according to NBCNews.com .

When Ramos went to pick his child up from school, baby Rosalyn Ramos was reportedly found.

Police were called and the girl was transported to a hospital were she was pronounced dead, according to the article. Temperatures reportedly reached 88 degrees Tuesday.

NBCNews.com said the father told police it was not part of his routine to care for the 6-month-old and a detective said it was a tragic accident.

Ramos is in custody as of Wednesday and an investigation is ongoing, according to the report. Read more.
