CORONADO, CA - The bizarre death investigation at a Coronado, Calif. mansion may be getting a little clearer.

A police detective says suicide is looking more likely in the death of a 32-year-old woman who shared the home with her multi-millionaire boyfriend Jonah Shacknai.

Shacknai is the Scottsdale man who runs a pharmaceutical company in Scottsdale.

Authorities say Rececca Zahau was found nude, hanging from a second floor balcony with her hands tied behind her back.

Detective Rick Carlson said, “I could see a person binding their hands so they wouldn’t be able to help themselves out of the noose once they committed to the act of hanging."

He also said guilt may have led her to do it.

Zahau was taking care of Shacknai’s 6-year-old son Max when he fell down the staircase at the mansion in July. He later died from his injuries.

Police say it's unusual for a woman to commit suicide, especially nude and out in the open.

But they say Zahau often slept nude and her feet were not tied.

Detective Carlson says the investigation is not finished but he is certain they will solve this case.
