We all know fast-food restaurants have the tendency to be slightly less than appealing, but you can’t help but overlook when employees dish on the dirty kitchen secrets.

In a recent article from Yahoo, former workers from a variety of fast-food chains describe their experiences from past jobs.

To give you just a taste of what Yahoo reported, one employee spilled secrets of Burger King’s vats of oil and how often they get reused.

Other employees gagged over bags of McDonald’s chicken nuggets, recycled meat in Wendy’s chili and Chik-Fil-A salads and giving leftovers to other customers.

Think you’re safe going meatless? Turns out ice cream machines and ice makers have surprises of their own.

According to the Yahoo, though, you’re probably still safe grabbing Five Guys for lunch.
