SEARCHLIGHT, NV - Authorities have identified a 37-year-old father and 2-year-old son who apparently drowned at Lake Mohave over the weekend.

Clark County coroner's officials say Pablo Hernandez-Cortez of North Las Vegas was pronounced dead at the scene midday Sunday. His toddler son Angel Gabriel Hernandez was pronounced dead at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

The coroner is still determining an exact cause of death.

National Park Service officials say swimmers spotted the man and his son floating in the water about 25 yards from the shoreline.

Neither person was wearing a life preserver.
