BOULDER, CO - A Colorado grand jury voted to indict the parents of JonBenet Ramsey following the 6-year-old pageant queen's murder, but prosecutors refused to try the case.
This shocking development comes more than 13 years after Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter announced his office lacked enough evidence to file charges against anyone suspected in the young girl's mysterious death.
What Hunter failed to mention is that the grand jury indicted both John and Patsy Ramsey on the charge of child abuse resulting in death -- that's according to a Boulder Daily Camera Newspaper report on Sunday.
They also say, Hunter didn't prosecute at the time, because he wasn't sure he could get a conviction.
JonBenet was bludgeoned and strangled in the basement of her family's home on Christmas Day in 1996.
Her parents were not exonerated of the heinous crime until 2008 - two years after JonBenet's mother died of ovarian cancer.
