Coral Springs, FL - A 30-year-old dance instructor in Florida is facing a charge of felony lewd and lascivious battery for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.
The boy told police that he met Jennifer Efre Deberry at Dance Effect Studio in Coral Springs, Florida, when he was 13. However, the alleged sexual relationship did not begin until he was 15, according to Deberry's arrest affidavit.
In keeping with HLN's policy of not naming alleged victims of sexual crimes and minors involved in such cases, the network is not naming the boy to protect his identity.
The alleged relationship lasted from September 2012 to January 2013. Investigators say they recovered 117 pages of text messages between Deberry and the boy detailing their sexual exploits.
The arrest affidavit includes several inappropriate text messages that Deberry allegedly sent the boy.
One of the messages said, "I hope one day I will be their daughter-in-law. I can't believe how I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I'm sure of it <3 I love you more than anything and have loved you for a long time."
Deberry was arrested Friday and booked at the Broward County Jail. She was later released on a $10,000 bond.
She refused to give a statement to police about the allegations.
