GREENWICH, CT -

Video of three multi-million dollar homes along the Greenwich, Connecticut shoreline being destroyed by fire Monday night as Sandy made landfall has been released to the public Thursday.

Greenwich fire officials told nbcnewyork.com that rescue units were able to save the residents and evacuate neighbors.

According to the report, the video shows how the combination of flames, winds and crashing surf made fighting the fires impossible.

Connecticut officials are calling the firefighters heroes for controlling the fire in 80 mph winds and rising flood waters.
