NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV - Authorities say an armed fugitive killed by a deputy U.S. marshal after a short foot pursuit in North Las Vegas had been wanted in a violent home invasion that left an elderly man with serious injuries including a fractured skull last week in Tucson, Ariz.

Three law enforcement officials on Thursday identified the dead man as 27-year-old Thomas Lars Domagala.

The officials said they could not be identified by name pending notification of Domagala's family by the Clark County coroner.

The deputy marshal involved in the shooting hasn't been identified.

He was part of a fugitive apprehension team that stopped a vehicle with Domagala and two women inside about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say Domagala had a handgun and ran from the vehicle when he was shot dead.
