BIRMINGHAM, AL - The FBI reported a shooting Thursday at a federal courthouse in Birmingham, Alabama.
CNN affiliate WBMA reported that a man shot himself in the head and was still alive when he was taken to a hospital.
The man walked into the chief clerk's office "mumbling about a will. He then put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger," the station said, citing a source inside the courthouse. The FBI confirmed the source's report, WBMA said.
Paul Daymond, a spokesman for the FBI in Birmingham, told CNN only that there was a shooting at the Hugo Black Federal Courthouse and that police, the U.S. Marshals Service and FBI are investigating.
