DETROIT - Authorities confirm a Wayne County deputy was stabbed at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice and the suspect is on the loose.
The deputy is being taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital.
It happened just after 8 a.m.
Our Scripps sister station WXYZ reports , the suspect escaped and carjacked a 2000 grey Dodge Voyager minivan with plate BWZ 3916 and was last seen heading northbound on Beaubien.
The van has since been recovered in a vacant lot on Concord, south of E. Lafayette where cops are setting up a perimeter and K9 units are being called in.
Police named the suspect as Derek White who is described as a black male, 25 years old, 5'6," 155 lbs., with brown eyes and black dreadlocks.
He is considered armed and dangerous and may be wearing a deputy's uniform.
No further details have been released at this time.
