DENVER - Using the screen name "pervymcperv," a Colorado Springs man who allegedly distributed 100 pieces of child pornography was indicted this month.
A federal grand jury indicted Kevin Shea, 42, for the crimes last week, said Jeff Dorschner, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney in Colorado. Shea allegedly used a peer-to-peer software program to distribute 97 images of child pornography and three videos on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2, 2010.
The FBI investigation also allegedly found that Shea possessed child pornography on Jan. 12, 2011.
He was indicted by a grand jury on Nov. 8 of this year.
Shea appeared in U.S. District Court in Denver Wednesday, where he was advised that he faces two counts of distribution of child pornography. If convicted, he faces between 5 years and 20 years in federal prison, and up to a $250,000 fine, per count.
Dorschner said Shea is also charged with one count of possession of child pornography, that would carry up to ten years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.
Shea is currently free on a $20,000 unsecured bond, Dorschner said.
