MIAMI-DADE, FL - Fire crews across the nation are showing their support for the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
According to a press release issued Friday, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the Dade County Firemen’s Benevolent Association swapped their boots for aprons to help raise money for the families of the Prescott 19, who lost their lives battling the Yarnell Hill Fire in June.
Firefighters and staff helped serve customers and held multiple raffles to raise more than $10,000 for the cause.
The Prescott 19 was an elite group of firefighters who specialized in wildland firefighting.
