NEW YORK - Everyone held their breath on a New York City street Wednesday as two window washers were rescued from their dangling perch.
The workers became trapped when one cable cord on their scaffold broke, leaving them hanging 42 stories up.
CNN iReporter Jody Brandman said everyone in her office held their breath as they watched firefighters pull the workers to safety.
Police closed off the streets as firefighters broke through glass windows to get to the pair.
Brandman said nearby construction workers cheered after the rescue.
Fire officials told local news station New York One that the two workers were a little shaken up, but otherwise OK.
