Countless videos showing the tragic destruction from Japan's tsunami have hit the web, but a clip posted recently on YouTube may be one of the worst.

In the video, uploaded April 10, a wave of dark water and garbage can be seen spreading over a small Japanese town as fearful residents race to outrun the destructive tsunami.

According to Mashable , the video is entitled “South Sanriku — Tsunami seen from Shizugawa High School.”

The footage appears to be shot from higher ground and captures several people running for their lives as homes and cars are swept away under the force of the water.
