Whether there's a natural disaster or an actual zombie apocalypse, Chevrolet says their Silverado Black Ops concept truck is equipped to handle it.
"The Silverado Black Ops concept is a survival kit on four wheels… built upon the stronger, smarter and more capable 2014 Chevrolet Silverado,” said Chevrolet design manager Dave Ross.
According to Chevy, the Black Ops concept model has performance and safety with features including:
-- Custom-fabricated lower body armor (Triple-sealed doors that are inlaid in the body sides)
-- Lockable, bed-mounted Truck Vault storage unit
-- Solar power pack
-- Front-mounted winch
-- A pair of gas masks
-- Military first aid kit
-- Fuel can
-- Water can
-- Crate stocked with food (mostly Twinkies)
-- LED spot light
-- Integrated tow hooks
-- Off-road tires mounted on custom-painted versions of the production Z71 18-inch wheels
-- Towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds with an available 6.2L V-8 and Max Towing Package
-- Silverado’s MyLink system with available navigation
-- Fuel-saving electric power steering
Chevrolet unveiled the concept truck at the Texas State Fair this weekend, before the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association show coming up in just a few weeks in Las Vegas.
