School asks Hunter Spanjer, who is deaf, to change sign language name?

A Nebraska boy, who is deaf, is being asked to change his sign language name because the gesture apparently looks like a weapon, according to a Tuesday report.

Hunter Spanjer, 3, uses the Signing Exact English language and signs his name by crossing his fingers and moving his hand up and down, according to Yahoo.com

There is reportedly a district rule that forbids anything that looks like a weapon and Grand Island Public Schools administrators asked the boy’s parents to change his sign language name.
