SINGER ISLAND, FL -

A sailboat washed ashore in Singer Island, Florida Tuesday morning after the captain of the boat lost control according to U.S. Coast Guard members of the Lake Worth Inlet.

According to officials, the captain said the mast of the boat hit him in the head and he had trouble navigating the vessel.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the captain was not hurt and it was unclear what his plans were to remove the boat.

Coast Guard members said if it is abandoned, the sailboat will be salvaged.

Crews did not find any pollutants leaking from the boat.
