Rare video shows coyote trying to scare off mountain lion

A rare video showing a coyote trying to scare off a mountain lion in southern California is circling the internet Wednesday.

Robert Meyer was hiking at the Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park in Orange County last week when he captured the video, according to GrindTV.com .

The veteran hiker reportedly said it’s rare to see the two animals and that it was amazing to see them interacting that way.

Officials caught the mountain lion Tuesday and will determine whether to relocate or euthanize the animal, according to the article.

The park has reopened, but the trail reportedly stayed closed in case the 2-year-old lion had been traveling with a mother.  Read more.
