OKINAWA, Japan - The world’s oldest man, the second world’s oldest man and even the world’s oldest dog are all from Japan. It may be something in the water, or it may just be the Japanese-influenced diet the Okinawa Diet, according to The Guardian .
The Okinawa Diet is a high-vegetable, low-meat diet that mostly consists of rice, soy products, seaweed, pickles, small cubes of pork belly and green tea. These foods are typically served in “longevity cafes.”
Author of the book, “The Okinawa Program,” Dr. Craig Wilcox told The Guardian to eat “as low down on the food chain as possible” to achieve longevity.
