Although Lionhead rabbits aren’t recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, they are growing rapidly in popularity.
The 2013 Shelby County Fair’s 4-H Rabbit Show reportedly featured several Lionheads; however, because the rabbit is not recognized, the animal is ineligible for the Best In Show award.

The ARBA will take another look at the breed at a convention in October.
