HANFORD, CA - Undercover video showing hundreds of dairy cows being mistreated has led to the closing of a California slaughterhouse.
After federal regulators shut down Central Valley Meat Co. in Hanford, Calif. on Monday, In-N-Out Burger said it’s no longer buying beef from the company.
The video shows the cows, some unable to walk, being repeatedly “shot, shocked, and kicked” before being killed, according to The Huffington Post.
WARNING: The video on YouTube may be graphic and disturbing.
The USDA is investigating the situation to see if beef from sick cattle has entered the human food supply.
We want to know: Do findings like this concern you about eating meat? What more do you think should be done to protect the food we eat?
