CINCINNATI - Market research firm dunnhumby has released its first-ever ranking of retailers based on how well they’re responding to the needs and wants of their customers.
This first Customer Centricity Index focuses on the restaurant industry. The company did a national online survey over a nine-month period to do the analysis, which includes more than 100 restaurants and responses from more than 8,800 people. Local chains didn’t make the cut because restaurants had to have more than 100 responses to be included, a dunnhumby spokeswoman said.

2. Panera Bread
3. Texas Roadhouse
4. Olive Garden
6. Red Lobster
8. In ‘N’ Out Burgers
9. Cracker Barrel
Researchers for dunnhumby found the highest rated restaurants also had the best sales growth over a two-year period.
